State Police write nearly 5,600 tickets during St. Patrick’s Day weekend crackdown
New York State Police issued 5,576 tickets during this year’s crackdown over St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
The enforcement campaign ran from Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17. There were 132 DWI arrests and State Police investigated 199 crashes, which injured 25 people. No one was killed.
In Troop G, which covers the Capital Region, troopers issued a total of 107 tickets including four for DWI, 10 for speeding, one for distracted driving, eight for seat belt violations and two for violations of the Move Over Law.
