May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee is urging drivers to stay alert on the roads.

Fatal motorcycle crashes were up 52% in 2021 with 201, compared to the 132 fatal crashes reported in 2019, according to a study from UAlbany’s Rockefeller College.

The warmer weather means more motorcycles on the road. The state says drivers and riders must share the road and be vigilant.
