State senator starts online petition to keep Washington County prison open
There’s a new petition to keep Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Washington County open. The petition was started by State Sen. Dan Stec.
As NewsChannel 13 previously reported, the State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision is planning to shut the prison down in November.
Nearly 600 jobs will be lost if the facility closes.
