State to speak with Petersburgh residents about PFAS contamination.

The state will speak with residents of Petersburgh about the ongoing investigation into PFAS contamination in their community later this month.

They will update the community on the ongoing efforts to investigate and address contamination from the Taconic Plastics site. The DEC and the state Department of Health is holding a community meeting on Jan. 18 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center.

Residents won a $23 million class action lawsuit against Taconic back in 2021 after property owners found their private wells were contaminated by toxic chemicals.
