North Country Rep. Elise Stefanik is suing Gov. Kathy Hochul over a series of voting laws the governor signed earlier this week.

Stefanik is specifically suing over the new law that will allow any registered voter to cast an early ballot by mail.

Stefanik claims allowing unregulated mass mail ballots violates the state constitution.
In her lawsuit, Stefanik said Hochul is making elections less secure.

Hochul hoped the laws would protect the rights of voters across New York state, she said. The bills also included one where people can register to vote and then cast a vote on the same day.
