Stefanik to retain position as GOP Conference chairwoman

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is retaining her leadership position in the next Congress.

She won a second term as the House GOP Conference chairwoman.

Stefanik fended off a challenge from freshman Congressman Byron Donalds from Florida.

Stefanik released a statement, thanking her colleagues.

She says in part:

“I believe that one of the most important qualities of any leader is commitment and the ability to listen, and I will continue to make these a top priority in this position.”
