Stop work ordered for Harbour Point Gardens apartments
It’s now been more than three weeks since dozens of people had to evacuate Harbour Point Apartments in Troy because of safety concerns.
And it looks like repairs won’t be done anytime soon.
The Troy mayor’s office says a stop work order was issued after the owner did not get the required building permit.
The city also says the owner did not provide the city with a remediation plan for the building.
Code enforcement has handed out a number of tickets to the building owner for issues like holes in walls, broken glass, and more.
Meanwhile, the Lexington Property Group – which runs the apartment complex, says the city should allow tenants to move back in.
The group argues the city has come up with new items to be fixed that the two sides did not originally agree to.
As the back and forth continues on this, we’ll keep you updated.
