Student, 14, charged with terroristic threat at New Lebanon School District
A 14-year-old student is under arrest for allegedly making a threat to a student at Columbia County school on Tuesday.
The New Lebanon School District told investigators someone emailed staff and a student a threat, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said.
Patrol officers responded to the school and the district went into lockout mode.
The investigators, in conjunction with the New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit, were able to able to identify the source of the email and determine that there was no credible threat to the school district or any student in it, police said.
The juvenile has been charged with making a terroristic threat.
The youth’s name is not being released due to the student’s age.
