Subject escapes police custody, gets recaptured
The Columbia County Sheriff told us about an escape from the Claverack Town Court.

It happened Tuesday around 5 p.m., the sheriff said.
The subject escaped the town court after being remanded to the custody of the sheriff.
After a search the suspect was found in the town of Claverack and taken into custody once again.
At this time there is no threat to the public, the sheriff said.
