Suspect gets 12 years in prison for Queensbury Walmart parking lot shooting

The man who shot someone in a Queensbury Walmart parking lot will spend the next 12 years in prison.

Adrian Simental, 34, was sentenced Thursday morning. The sentence includes three years of post-release supervision.

Simental shot the victim in the torso after an argument on Nov. 27. Simental later pleaded guilty to assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

The victim was seriously injured but survived.

The judge also issued a 20-year order of protection for the victim.
