Kevin Monahan, the man accused of shooting and killing Kaylin Gillis, will be in Warren County Court next Thursday.

Gillis, 20, was riding in a car that was turning around in Monahan’s driveway in Hebron, Washington County, when Monahan allegedly shot at the car, and killed Gillis.

Monahan is charged with second-degree murder.

The court appearance will be for a hearing, where someone in custody challenges why they’re being held behind bars. Monahan’s being held with no bail. He wants that to change.

The story has gained national attention from many outside this area, including from Vice President Kamala Harris.

Gillis was a 2021 graduate of Schuylerville High School.
