A suspicious death is under investigation in Bennington County tonight. Vermont State Police responded to reports of a fight on Chickadee Drive in the town of Pownal around 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. When they arrived, police say they found an adult man dead at the scene.

The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington is conducting an autopsy to confirm the identity of the victim and determine a cause of death. Police have not released the name of the victim.
