Swastikas spray-painted on private contractor’s trailer in Troy
Someone spray-painted swastikas on a private contractor’s trailer in Troy, police said.
The swastikas were found Friday on the trailer, which was parked in the area of Congress Street and 8th Street. The contract was doing work in the Prospect Park area.
Investigators think the vandalism was done in the early morning hours, they said.
“The City of Troy stands against racism and hate in all its forms, and symbols which promote racism and discrimination are not welcome in our community,” Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello said in a statement.
Anyone with information is asked to call Troy Police at 518-270-4772, or send a tip online.
The New York State Hate Crimes Task Force is also investigating.
