Sixteen-year-old teen accused of arson in school fire

Sixteen-year-old teen accused of arson for allegedly trying to start a fire in the bathroom at Bethlehem High School.

A 16-year-old was arrested on Monday for allegedly setting a fire in a bathroom at Bethlehem High School last month.

The juvenile is accused of intentionally setting a fire in one of the restrooms of the C wing of the building when school was in session, Bethlehem Police said. No one was injured.

The teen has been charged with first-degree arson, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.

The youth was arraigned in Albany County Family Court and released to the supervision of probation.
