Teen girl accused of discharging pepper spray in North Adams school library

A high school girl in Berkshire County is facing charges for allegedly pepper-spraying multiple people.

The attack happened in the library on Tuesday at Drury High School, NewsChannel 13’s media partners at The Berkshire Eagle reported. The student claims she didn’t point it at anyone in particular, the paper reported.

An unknown number of students and adults went to the hospital with difficulty breathing, police said. They’re all expected to be OK.

The upper floor of the school was evacuated to air out the building.

The student is facing a fine of up to $300 for carrying the pepper spray without a proper license.
