Berkshire Bach Society gets big grant
The Berkshire Bach Society is getting a $16,000 grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The organization’s mission is to preserve the cultural legacy of baroque music by presenting the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. The interim executive director says the money will help the organization get back on its feet after a few difficult years.
Wrestling legend presents medal in Albany
It was a special day in Albany County on Monday, as the rocky “Soulman” Johnson Medal of Mettle was presented to Joseph Defino by wrestling legend Mick Foley. A ceremony was held at the International Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame at the MVP Arena on Monday. The award honors those who have overcome obstacles in their personal and professional lives to achieve their goals.
Make-A-Wish Gala back in Saratoga Springs
The annual Make-A-Wish Gala is returning to Saratoga Springs. The Hall of Springs will host the Make-A-Wish Northeast New York’s Hope Begins With Us Gala. It will be the final gala for Make-A-Wish Northeast New York CEO William Trigg III. Trigg will step down after 17 years. There will be inspiring stories, live and silent auctions, food and drink and music and dancing.
‘Stranger Things’ actress coming to Johnstown
Suzie from “Stranger Things” is coming to Johnstown. Actress Gabriella Pizzolo from Niskayuna is best known for playing Suzie Bingham on the show. She will be making an appearance at the Toying Around Block Party in June. Pizzolo will be signing autographs and taking photos. On the show, Suzie is Dustin’s girlfriend, and appears in seasons 3 and 4.
