With warmer than normal weather continuing, police in Pittsfield are reminding people about the dangers of thin ice at Pontoosuc Lake.

Police received several calls recently about a party on the ice, right near open water.

They urge people to stay off the ice, as it is not safe.

It also puts first responders who come to the rescue at risk, they said.
