Three people face robbery charges

Three people face robbery charges in Guilderland after allegedly luring a victim through a dating app. They also were charged in a crime in Troy.

Three people already charged for allegedly robbing a Troy man they lured through a dating app have been arrested for a similar crime in Guilderland.

The man told Guilderland Police that he was with a woman he met on an app when two men approached him, displayed handguns, stole his money and property. The incident took place at around 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 18 at 1700 Western Ave.

After an investigation, police arrested three Troy residents – William Camino and Terry Adams Jr., who are both 18, and 24-year-old Katrina Carroll.

Carroll was the person the victim met on the app, police said.

All three were charged with two counts of robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, grand larceny, conspiracy and petit larceny.

They are being held at Rensselaer County Jail, where they are facing charges for a similar crime in Troy. On the same day as the Guilderland incident, police said they robbed a man who they targeted online. Carroll arranged for him to go into an alleyway at Cypress and Congress streets and threatened him at gunpoint.
