TJ’s Cafe in Colonie closes after 25 years in business
A longtime Colonie restaurant is shutting its doors. TJ’s Cafe on Central Avenue in Colonie is closing after nearly 26 years.

Owner Todd Leach posted a farewell message on Facebook Saturday, and hundreds of people commented on the post, sharing what TJ’s means to them.
In the post Leach says, – “It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the closing of TJ’s Cafe after almost 26 years in business. The economic forces presented to us at this time have become insurmountable.”
He ends by saying, “Thank you all so much for everything…the memories, the laughter, the joy, and the smiles. It really has been quite a ride.”
He cites growing costs, supply chain problems, and staffing shortages as some of the things he and his family have been fighting against for a while.
