Trio severely injured in Pittsfield crash

A crash in Pittsfield left multiple people severely injured on Saturday. One person had to be airlifted from the scene with life-threatening injuries.

The accident occurred at 1 p.m. in the area of 635 Merrill Road. Mark Papkey, 52, was travelling northbound when he collided with the vehicle occupied by Parkpoom, Phannee and Krobkul Seesangrit, according to police.

Parkpoom Seesangrit was airlifted to Albany Medical Center to be treated for life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, Phannee Seesangrit and Parkpoom Seesangrit were taken to Berkshire Medical Center to be treated, officials said.

Merrill Road was closed for about three hours while the roadway was cleared. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
