TROY – People in Troy are angry and outraged — not just because another person has been shot and killed, but because that person was a young teenager who never had a chance to live a full life.

Less than 48 hours after the latest deadly shooting in Troy, candles and flowers were lined up in front of 151 Sixth Ave. Bullet holes remained clearly visible in the front windows and neighbors remained angry, outraged and exacerbated that the 14-year-old boy who lives inside will never experience the first day of classes, let alone the rest of his life.

The school district posted a statement on its website.

For now, Troy police are withholding the victim’s identity. They believe the shooting wasn’t random. Police think someone deliberately targeted him.

Troy detectives were going door to door in the neighborhood Monday, interviewing residents.

They were also hoping to find useful surveillance video footage. Many homes in that neighborhood have cameras mounted on them.
