Troy Democrats are asking the state to direct funding to address potential health hazards caused by lead in water pipes.

Democratic legislators say city of Troy water officials estimate that there are 4,500 lead service lines that need immediate replacement – and that could cost more than $22 million

They’re asking for funding from the Clean Water Infrastructure Act to help.
