A Troy man was arraigned Thursday for a death in April. Tavel Harris pleaded not guilty to manslaughter, the Albany County District Attorney’s Office said.
Harris is accused of recklessly causing the death of Naghira Walker in April. He is also accused of intending to conceal, alter, or destroy the victim’s body, as well as clothing and bedding which had her blood on it.
Police say he used a U-Haul truck and a wheelchair to dump Walker’s body in an Albany neighborhood.
Court documents say Harris was aware of the victim’s grave condition due to a drug overdose, but did not get any help.
He is due back in court later this month.
