Troy man charged in weekend Albany stabbing

A Troy man is accused of stabbing another man on Saturday. It happened on Central Avenue just after 2 a.m., police said.

A 33-year-old Troy man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred early Saturday morning in Albany.

Teyona Lewis has been charged with one felony count of second-degree assault.

At about 2:15 a.m., officers responded to the area of Central Avenue and Henry Johnson Boulevard for reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a 42-year-old man with a stab wound to his lower back, according to a news release. 

The victim was treated on scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

During the course of the investigation, police determined Lewis was the suspect.

He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and released.
