Troy man faces drug and weapons charges
A Troy man is facing drug and weapons charges following a three-month investigation by the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office.
Jawan Myers Jr. 23, was arrested after a search of his home at 182 Hill St. found 29.3 grams of cocaine, 3.5 grams of methamphetamine and 446 grams of pills that tested positive for fentanyl and codeine, police said. The drugs have a street value of about $20,000. There also was $2,863 in cash, scales and packaging materials, according to police.
Police also found three loaded handguns and a high-capacity ammunition feeding device.
Myers was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of criminal possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon ammunition feeding device.
Myers has open narcotics cases in Saratoga County Court and was recently released on his own recognizance. He was arraigned in Troy City Court on the new charges and sent without bail to Rensselaer County Jail.
