A Troy man has pleaded not guilty to animal cruelty charges.

Tyler Valentine, 29, appeared before a judge in Troy City Court on Wednesday morning.

Cameras were not allowed in the courtroom for Valentine’s arraignment, but NewsChannel 13’s Caitlin Irla was inside the courtroom.

Valentine is facing nine counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

This comes after police found nine dead animals in his apartment in Troy on July 20, they said.

Valentine is accused of not providing food to three dogs, four cats, a ferret, and a bearded dragon. The animals suffered from extreme neglect, police said.

He is due back in court on August 25.
