Troy Police arrest 3 teens after complaint of stolen vehicle

Troy Police have arrested three teens in connection with a stolen vehicle complaint.

Officers responded to the area of Earl Street and North Street at about 2 a.m. on Sunday after a person reported that their Nissan Altima was stolen by several males. Police began searching the area for the suspect.

A police officer in South Troy saw the vehicle traveling near Vandenburgh Avenue. Other officers responded to the area and stopped the vehicle on Glenmore Road in North Greenbush at the city line, police said.

Police found an illegal handgun in the vehicle. One adult man and two juveniles were arrested. The juveniles’ names are not being released due to their age. One was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and the other was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.

Jahmez C Mayor, 18, was charged with criminal possession of stolen property and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
