Troy police investigate possible fire and shooting

Troy police say that after firefighters responded to reports of a possible fire in Troy, they are now also investigating a shooting.

Police say that around 12:30 a.m. when the firefighters responded to the Calypso Lounge at 77 Congress Street for a fire alarm, they were met with a large crowd and the sound of gunshots outside.  

We’re told by police that after they dispersed the crowd, one person was transported to Albany Medical Center who said that they were in the area of Congress Street in Troy when the shooting happened.

Police say that the injuries to that person are non-life-threatening.

Police say that the Troy Fire Engine also sustained damage in the shooting.

Both the fire alarm activation and shooting are under further investigation. No suspects are in custody yet.
