Gov. Kathy Hochul is announcing a $150 million expansion of tuition assistance for part-time students.

For the first time, part-time students taking six or more credits per semester can receive assistance starting this fall.

That means 75,000 additional students are eligible for the state’s tuition assistance program.

Students enrolling in the fall semester may apply for the tuition assistance by filling out their federal FAFSA application.
