Two people are now charged in Tuesday’s Schenectady standoff.

Police were called to the 900 block of Crane Street around 1 p.m.

They said someone reported a fight involving a possible gun and a shovel. A baby was also reported there, police said.

Catoria Pittman, 35, was quickly taken into custody. She is charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.

The second suspect, Wendell Boone, 39, got away. Police were told he was in a nearby apartment. That caused a standoff that lasted for several hours. Nearby roads were closed, as dozens of onlookers watched.

Boone was eventually found around 9:40 laying between two buildings. He faces a list of charges including burglary, criminal use of a firearm, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. A loaded gun was also found during the search, police said.

A 2-year-old child in the home is now with Child Protective Services. The suspects are the child’s parents, police said.
