Two officers injured after responding to domestic incident in Wynantskill

Two North Greenbush police officers are injured after responding to a domestic incident at a home in
Wynantskill on Friday.


Police say 29-year-old Austin Kownack is now facing a long list of charges, including:

  • Two counts of second-degree assault
  • Three counts of endangering the welfare of a child
  • Second-degree obstructing governmental administration
  • Resisting arrest


He is being held in the Rensselaer County Jail because of multiple prior felony convictions, said police.


Both officers were taken to the hospital, where they were treated and released.
