Two people have died after a fire in Knox.

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls around 2 a.m. Wednesday for a fire at 1545 Thompsons Lake Road. The house was engulfed in flames.

Fire departments from Knox, Berne and Altamont extinguished the fire.

Two people were found dead in the residence. Autopsies are scheduled for Thursday.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
