Two Troy men stole cash, lawn equipment from Green Island businesses
Two Troy men have been arrested for allegedly stealing over cash and lawn mowing equipment worth over $20,000 from two Green Island businesses.
On Oct. 2, Green Island Police officers responded to the Island Wash Laundromat on Lower Hudson Avenue for a report of theft of over $2,000 from the ATM.
That same day, police responded to Repair Truck Services on Cannon Street for a report of a theft of trailer that contained two riding lawnmowers and tools. The property was worth over $20,000.
Through an investigation, police obtained search warrants that resulted in the arrest of 39-year-old Michael Monge and 42-year-old Robert Melendez.
Both were charged with two counts of grand larceny and one count of criminal mischief. They were arraigned in Green Island Town Court and released to the supervision of Albany County Probation. They are due back in court on Oct. 17 at 4:30 p.m.
