The United Way is putting out a call to action for donations.

Nearly half of online donations for nonprofits come in during the final week of the year.

In the Capital Region, the United Way has helped more than 70 different nonprofits. That’s more than a $3 million investment in the community.

Initiatives include providing funding for summer meals for children or after school programs.
