Police searching for suspect in school safe theft
Vermont State Police are looking for the person who stole a safe from an elementary school in Bennington County.
Troopers responded to Stamford Elementary School at around 12:02 a.m. on Friday for an alarm. They arrived and found an unlocked window with the screen pushed up. A small safe with money was stolen from the main office, police said. However, investigators found no one in the school.
The suspect was wearing all black clothing with a winter hat and facemask. An image was captured on the school’s security camera.
