Vermont woman baking up successful scone business

A North Bennington woman has a love of baking that’s been an inspiration for her, and a delight for those who sample her products.
Wendy June Marie remembers her grandfather baking bread like it was yesterday.
Her grandmother also baked. It inspired Wendy to one day have her own bakery.
She hesitated for years, and followed her other passion – education – teaching around the world
Returning to America, she continued teaching, but the universe was telling her to return to baking.
Confidence remained a deterrent. Finally, she did it, baking for months – and starting with an online business called MoonScones.
She gave samples away – even to the firemen who put out a chimney fire in her home.
Word got around. Last November, on Small Business Saturday, her scones were selling like hotcakes. She finally began to live out a dream that had taken so long to come to fruition.
