Gillibrand encourages vets to apply for burn pit benefits

More than 500,000 veterans are getting help after exposure to toxic burn pits, according to Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.

The first group of veterans has had their claims approved through the PACT Act, which provides expanded health care and benefits. So far, more than 26,000 New Yorkers have filed claims.

Gillibrand said thousands more could be eligible.
