The families of the two Shenendehowa High School students killed in a crash on the Northway in 2012 say it was an emotional day on Thursday after the man who caused that crash – Dennis Drue – was released from prison on parole.

The release came about six months earlier than most people thought. However, it was not unexpected.

Drue was drunk when he crashed into a car with Chris Stewart, Deanna Rivers, Matt Hardy and Bailey Wind inside.

Stewart and Rivers were killed. Hardy and Wind were seriously injured, but survived.
