Watervliet man gets seven years in prison for marijuana, weapon charges

An Albany County man was sentenced to over seven years in prison for possessing a gun as a felon and intending to distribute marijuana.

Ronnie Robinson, 29, of Watervliet, had admitted in June 2023 that on Nov. 30, 2021, he had about 268 grams of marijuana he intended to distribute and possessed a firearm to protect the marijuana and drug proceeds, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Robinson had previously been convicted of three felonies and was under supervised release for a 2015 conviction for unlawfully possessing a firearm.
