Watervliet woman sentenced for defrauding government of nearly $150k

A Watervliet woman was sentenced Monday to two years of federal probation for defrauding the government. 

Ouida Cordell, 47, admitted to lying about how much her company was earning to get a bigger loan from the Small Business Administration.

Cordell received $149,400 in a COVID relief loan she wasn’t entitled to.

She will have to pay restitution and perform 100 hours of community service.
