Watervliet woman sentenced for making false statements

A woman from Watervliet was ordered to pay back nearly $27,000, after defrauding the labor department’s compensation program.

Eunice Ting was sentenced Monday in federal court to one year of probation.
She admitted that over seven years she submitted hundreds of fraudulent claims – asking to be reimbursed for medically related travel to the YMCA for aquatic therapy.
But – she didn’t get the therapy, or even go to the YMCA.
She received tens of thousands of dollars in return.
Ting was ordered to pay that money back at Monday’s sentencing.
