Weekend brush fire on Northway in Saratoga Springs

Saratoga Springs firefighters responded to a large brush fire on the Northway on Sunday afternoon.

Gusty winds helped spread the fire through the dry vegetation, the Saratoga Springs Fire Department said on Facebook.

There are no fire hydrants on the Northway, so the department relied on a 3,000-gallon tanker truck from the Malta Ridge Volunteer Fire Company.

Malta and New York State Police assisted with traffic control.
