Winter storm safety tips ahead of this weekend’s wintry weather

Some people might lose power during this weekend’s storm, so we want to give you some safety tips.
Generators must be run outside so that carbon monoxide does not build up inside your home.
Make sure you shut off your main breaker before you fire up the generator.
Keep flashlights and extra batteries handy in your home, and make sure your cell phones are charged.
Power outages can often be caused by downed power lines. You should always assume a power line is live and carrying electricity. Do not touch it and do not touch anyone who is in contact with a downed power line.
It is also important to check on your elderly neighbors and family members. They might need help in the event of a power outage.
