Albany Police raised more than $5,000 for two charities during the No Shave November event.

Half of the money – $2,670 – will be going to the Ronald McDonald House of the Capital Region. The other half will be going to the American Cancer Fund.

Police strive to make a positive difference in the lives of those facing challenging times, they said.
