The fifth annual Pumpkin Smash is happening in Amsterdam on Saturday. People are invited to bring old pumpkins and crush them with wooden mauls or hammers for younger kids.

There are also spoked targets to impale the pumpkin.
People can also enjoy cider and doughnuts and get their face painted.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
It is put on by Compost Works, which aims to keep pumpkins out of landfills by composting them.
