Animal shelter event for Columbia, Greene counties raises $80K

More than $80,000 was raised through a local event to help beloved animals.

The Columbia-Greene Humane Society and the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals held its annual Shelter Sweeps event.

You could enter the sweepstakes by offering a donation.

This year’s event offered three prize packages. You could win an electric bike, a John Deere tractor or a tropical Costa Rica trip.

Shelter Sweeps raised more than $80,000 to help provide programs and services to more than 6,000 animals.
