Capital Region BOCES grad wins big in national competition

A local graduate proved he’s among the best in the country.
Jacob Alaimo earned a bronze medal at the national SkillsUSA barbering competition in Atlanta.
The competition included around 6,000 students from across the country, competing in 115 different skills and leadership events.
Jacob graduated from the Career and Technical Education Center cosmetology program at Capital Region BOCES this year.
He is now pursuing a career at Choices Hair Studio in Delmar and is seeking a business degree in college with a goal of opening his own barbershop.
