Clifton Park girl headed to Disney World after lifesaving kidney transplant

Maya Charles Rivera – the 11-year-old Clifton Park girl who recently had a lifesaving kidney transplant – is headed to Disney World with her family.

The trip is part of her Make-A-Wish, her parents said.

NewsChannel 13 has covered Maya’s story since her parents were looking for a donor and running out of options.

A family friend who wishes to remain anonymous came forward and was a match.

Maya also had heart surgery when she was a baby.

She’s now back in school with her friends.
