Firefighters promoted in Troy ceremony

Four firefighters at the Troy Fire Department are moving up the ranks.

They were promoted in a ceremony at the Franklin Terrace Ballroom on Friday morning.

Two lieutenants who have each been with the Troy Fire Department more than 10 years were promoted to captains, and two other firefighters are now serving as lieutenants.

The city’s also adding seventeen new firefighters to the ranks, according to Madden.

He thanked state leadership in attendance, for their help the past eight years in getting federal funding he says has helped to pay for holding onto staff, training and for the fire department to buy new equipment.
