Grieving Nassau mom gets big gift after theft at son’s grave

A grieving mom received a heartwarming gift on Mother’s Day. After a bench was stolen from her teenage son’s grave – family and close friends gifted her two new benches and a picnic table!

Jonathan Saviano died at 19 years old, along with his dog, Buster, in a house fire in 2018.

Saviano’s mom says she comes every week to the East Nassau Cemetery to sit at her son’s grave.

She told NewsChannel 13, “When you live in a community that loves and cares for each other, this is what you find on Mother’s Day.”
